Chronic users may develop collapsed veins, infection of the heart lining and valves, abscesses, constipation and gastrointestinal cramping, malnutrition and weight loss, chronic apathy, liver or kidney diseases and various types of pneumonias.HIV and hepatitis B, C are easily transmitted if people share needles to inject heroin.
