I have swelling in my groin

If you have:

  • Swelling in the groin (inguinal swelling)
  • Signs of infection within the groin swelling:
  • Warmth
  • Redness (in people with light coloured skin)
  • Tenderness
  • Fluctuance (i.e. it feels as if there is some liquid inside the swelling)
  • Genital ulcers

1. What could be your condition?
You may have infected lymph glands. Lymph glands are present in many places in the body including the groin (other places include the neck and armpit). Lymph glands serve to “filter” out germs and dead cells from the blood.

2. What can you do?

Seek medical care [l1] as soon as possible to get diagnosed and get treatment for the infection
