As a young person you are in a transition period from the childhood to the adulthood. During this period, it is common to have disagreements with your parents. Disagreements arise when the attitude of parents toward their children are not in harmony with your attitude to your parents. The main reason for that is the age difference (generation gap) between parents and children.
Parents’ attitude
Parents usually see their children as a different generation rather than their own miniature. Due to generation gap, by nature, parents have different opinions from those of teenagers regarding clothes, friends, beliefs and etc.
Your attitude
You mayalso think that your parents and other adults do not understand you. You may think that the adults exercise unnecessary control over them. In your opinion, your parent maybe does not allow you to do what you want to do and force you to do what they want them to do.
You probablyenjoy spending time together with yourfriends. As your parents may not always listen to how you feel, you pour out their heart to your friends. As you feel your parents are too strict, you may want to spend more time outside. You may believe that parents have no trust in you.
Anyway, the important thing is the mutual understanding between you and your parents. You need to understand how your parents feel and vice versa. To achieve mutual understanding, discussions and negotiations are needed. It is important to find a way to gain mutual understanding and reach an agreement instead of fighting against each other.
