- High blood pressure
- High body temperature
- Sexual arousal
- Increased risk for HIV/AIDS or hepatitis from unsafe sex and shared needles
- Lack of interest in eating, which can lead to poor nutrition
- Intense anger or paranoia (feeling like someone is going to harm you even though they aren’t)
- Risk of seizures and stroke at high doses
Long term use can cause following which can last long even after stopping the drug
- Anxiety and confusion
- Problems sleeping

- Violent behavior
- Psychosis (hearing, seeing, or feeling things that are not there)
- Skin sores caused by scratching
- Severe weight loss
- Severe dental problems, known as “meth mouth”
- Problems with thinking, emotion, and memory
- Amphetamine psychosis.
